About The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists [AGLP] is a professional organization of psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, and medical students which serves as a voice for the concerns of lesbians and gay men within the psychiatric community. The Association is committed to fostering a more accurate understanding of homosexuality, opposing discriminatory practices against gay men and lesbians, and promoting supportive, well informed psychiatric care for lesbian and gay patients. The organization provides opportunities for affiliation and collaboration among psychiatrists who share these concerns.

About The Association of Internet Researchers [AoIR] was organized in 1999.

The goals of the AoIR are to:

  • Provide an interdisciplinary and interprofessional organization for promotion of scholarly and critical research into the social, cultural, political, economic and aesthetic aspects of the Internet
  • Organize and sponsor regular conferences to provide a forum so those engaged in Internet research can meet and exchange information about their work
  • Sponsor and disseminate information about Internet research through publication of a site on the worldwideweb and through other publications
  • Encourage recognition of Internet studies as an area for scholarly research, curriculum development and teaching
  • Establish connections between the scholarly community, those in Internet and Internet-related industries, and Internet users
  • Encourage the development of research and systematic study in topics and areas of Internet and Internet-related phenomena where such study is not well developed, both in terms of pioneering, substantive intellectual areas and in terms of regions, localities and institutions interested in Internet studies
  • Be a clearinghouse for information about Internet research resources and encourage their development
  • Encourage socially responsible Internet research that serves the common good
  • Engender a networked approach to the establishment, growth, and organization of this association

About Fondée en 1977, l'Association des Intervenants en Toxicomanie du Québec [AITQ] est un organisme à but non-lucratif qui vise l'amélioration des interventions en matière d'usage et d'abus des substances psychotropes (alcool, médicaments et autres).
