| The Australian Society of Hypnosis [ASH] was formed in 1971 to provide training and education in hypnosis for health professionals.The Society either directly provides or works with universities to provide training in hypnosis for medical practitioners, psychologists, and dentists. Branches of the Society, located in each state, also run advanced and specialist hypnosis training programmes, designed to foster clinical skills development across the range of applications of hypnosis in medical, psychological and dental settings. There are about 1200 registered professional members.
