| The BCP is a linking body of psychoanalytic psychotherapy societies including those with the longest established trainings in the UK, and also some newer societies. The field of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is comprised of the disciplines of psychoanalysis, analytical psychology, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and child psychotherapy. There is no legal requirement for the registration of psychotherapists. The BCP was formed to publish a voluntary registry of appropriately qualified psychoanalytic psychotherapists and lists the names of nearly 1,300 practitioners in its latest annual edition.
